Abstract
722,954. Textile sliver &c. condensers. ESTIRAJES BALMES SOC. ANON. Sept. 9, 1952 [Sept. 29, 1951], No. 22594/52. Class 120 (1). A sliver or roving condenser is formed by the combination of convergent stationary surfaces of two side walls or lateral elements 1, 1, which are united by a bridge 12 and/or a corresponding bridge below the elements for maintaining the relative position of the elements without impeding the passage of fibres, and convergent moving surfaces 4, 3, of two drafting rollers 16, 17, into the angle formed by which the elements fit. The lateral elements shown in Figs. 1 and 2 each passes an extension in the form of a wedge situated close to the contact generatrix 9 and between which and at least one of the drafting rollers there may be contact. When rollers 18, 19 pass the sliver 20 to the rollers 16, 17, the condenser regulates the movement of the sliver which has an automatic entering or threading action, the fibres moving simultaneously against all or any of the four condensing surfaces. The condenser may operate without any movement whether it is of the individual or of the multiple type, Fig. 4 (not shown) or it may have reciprocating motion following the motion undergone by the slivers which may be imparted by the slivers or by mechanical means.
