Abstract

A yarn processing device (e.g. a spinning device, sliver prepn. device) is supplied with sliver from sliver cams of a creel, and the creel is divided into two assemblies arranged on opposite sides of the machine. The creel may also supply a second yarn processing machine arranged face to face with the first yarn processing device, and pref. each assembly has 2 lines of sliver cams extending perpendicularly to the machine. Each assembly may include a main beam arranged above and extending along the lines of cans, and bars projecting laterally from the main beam to provide guides over which the slivers pass as they leave the cans. The creel can accommodate a large number of large cans. The path length travelled by the slivers is reduced as compared with arrangements having the creel at the back of the machine, thereby reducing breakages.
