Abstract

912,227. Carding-engine condenser arrangements. T.M.M. (RESEARCH) Ltd. Sept. 21, 1961 [Sept. 21, 1960], No. 32444/60. Class 120 (1). A carding-engine condenser winding unit comprises two groups of winding elements spaced apart and means for feeding a set of slubbings to each group, the space between the groups forming a passageway giving access to the sides of the groups facing each other for the removal of filled bobbins. Although mechanical means for feeding the slubbings may be employed, pneumatic suction means are preferred These may include a tube 18 for each slubbing and from which slubbings are led to bobbins 21 through gaps 181 in the suction tubes. Instead of the suction tubes being gapped, rotatable apertured collars may be used in alignment with apertures in the tubes.
