Abstract
1370365 Knitting-machines KARL MAYER TEXTIL - MASCHINENFABRIK GmbH 7 Dec 1971 [12 Dec 1970] 56716/71 Heading D1C A warp machine in which weft yarn is laid-in by a reciprocating guide 1 also includes an auxiliary guide 16a which precedes it, thereby forming a "thread reserve". Strain on the yarn is reduced. A deflector 20 holds the yarn clear of the auxiliary guide while the main guide is out of use. The auxiliary guide is driven by an endless chain 18; the main guide is driven by a cable along guide rods. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 1 not shown) both guides are driven by cables.
