Abstract

631,838. Spinning &c. flyers. FRASER & SONS, Ltd., D., and FRASER, H. May 3, 1948, No., 16995/47. [Class 120 (ii)] In a spinning or like textile frame of the suspended flyer type and in which yarn is wound on a bobbin rotatable exclusively by the tension of the yarn, a dome-shaped flyer 10 is provided unitary with a tubular wharve spindle 11 carrying above the flyer a driving wharve of less diameter than the flyer, the spindle wharve and flyer forming a rotatable unit permitting free passage of the yarn 18 from the upper end of the spindle to a guide eye 16 at the lower end of the flyer, the bobbin entering the flyer for its entire effective length in the traversing operation and being removed from the flyer for doffing. Two diametrically opposed self-threading guides 16 may be provided. Specification 248,745, [Class 120 (ii)], is referred to.
