Abstract

717.283. Anti-ballooning arrangements for ring frames. OFFICINE MECCANICHE CIGARDI SOC. ANON. O.M.C.S.A. July 10, 1952 [Oct. 20, 1951], No. 17446/52.. Class 120(2) A ring frame provided with upper and lower thread guide rings of smaller diameter than the spinning rings has the lower guide rings fixedly mounted in relation to the spinning rings at a height above the latter equal to less than one-half the height of the tubes or bobbins to be wound. in one form, in association with each spindle, an upper guide ring e is rigidly mounted upon the spindle rail by means of a vertical rod f and a lower thread guide g is mounted, through a rod n, on the ring rail. Both guides e, g may be pivoted upwards when it is necessary to remove a yarn package, the ring g being raised above the spindle tip for this purpose. The diameter of the guide g is preferably onehalf of the spinning ring. It is stated that the invention permits large packages to be produced without loss of output.
