899,428. Spinning yarns. HAMEL PROJEKTIERUNGS-UND VERWALTUNGS A.G. Feb. 26, 1959 [May 22, 1958], No. 6644/59. Class 120(3) A multiple yarn, e.g. of vegetable or animal fibres, is produced in two separate stages of doubling and twisting viz. (a) withdrawing single yarns from packages, e.g. conical crosswound bobbins mounted in a creel, and doubling them, e.g. on a ring twisting frame with a low twist of about 30 turns per metre at a speed of about 400 metres per minute and winding into a package, e.g. a flanged bobbin and (b) withdrawing the doubled yarn from the latter package, imparting a high twist of up to 1,000 turns per metre, e.g. on an uptwisting flyer frame, again at a speed of about 400 metres per minute, and winding.
