Abstract

941,257. Textile balloon-control means. H. NIMTZ, and K. NIMTZ, [trading as VOLKMANN & CO.]. June 14,1960 [June 20, 1959], No.20910/60. Heading D1D. The tension in a ballooning yarn in twisting- spindles, especially in double-twist spindles is reduced by interrupting the yarn in the ballooning area and imparting inward impulses to it at separate zones distributed around the periphery of the balloon, or both around its periphery and its axial length. In Fig. 1, a cylinder 20 carries one or more rings 21 of undular (as shown) or saw-tooth (Fig. 2 not shown) formation. In Fig. 3, hexagonal rings 1... 4 are arranged one above the other and in Fig. 4 a series of eccentrically-arranged rings is arranged with the ring-centres on a helix around the axis of the cylinder.
