Heading D1D In two-for-one twisting apparatus, e.g. for plying yarns, comprising a spindle 4 carrying a cup 10 and a storage system formed by two or more adjoining discs or cylinders providing surfaces of different diameters, the spindle has an axial bore and each disc or cylinder has a radial passage connecting the axial bar with the surface of the storage system. The surface 8 is for thin threads, and the surface 9 for thicker threads, in each case, the diameter of the balloon being the same. It is stated that the apparatus can be used to impart false twist to yarns.
