Abstract
PURPOSE:A strand of glass fiber is taken out of a cake through the guide that is set outside the cake and rotates concentrically around the creel in the unwinding direction to keep the taking-out speed and tension constant, thus preventing the fluctuation in twisting number and yarn length. CONSTITUTION:Guide 10 that is positioned outside cake 2 and rotates on the periphery of the circle concentric to creel 5 in the unwinding direction is driven to take out strand of glass fiber 1 from cake 2. The strand is passed through fixed guide 16, lappet guide 17 and traveller 19 on ring 18 to be twisted, then wound up on bobbin 22. The taking-up speed becomes constant and the tension taking up the strand is always kept uniform. Further, since feed rollers are not used, the fluctuation in twisting number and yarn length caused by slippage of the strand on the feed rollers is prevented and the strand breakage caused by wrapping on the rollers also can be avoided.
