Abstract
900,313. Ring-spinning spindles. AELIERS HOUGET SOC. ANON VERTIETOISE POUR LA CONTRUCTION DE MACHINES. Aug. 15, 1958 [Feb. 13, 1958; July 15, 1958], No. 26242/58. Class 120 (2). A yarn-control device for a ring-spinning spindle comprises a braking element carried by a rod freely rotatable in the end of the spindle and such that the yarn in its passage through it is tensioned by changing direction two or more times, the rotation of the element being caused by the ballooning yarn. In Fig. 2 the element comprises rings 8, 9, 10 of the form shown in Fig. 2a on a rod 11, rings 8 and 9 being rotatable on the rod to vary the path, and accordingly the tension of the yarn. The diameter of the rings is less than that of bobbin-tube for easy doffing. A guide similar to 29, Fig. 5, may be pivoted to the rod to carry the yarn clear of the top of the spindle. The rings may be replaced by a fluted cylinder around which the yarn passes. In Fig. 5, the rod 24 is supported in a footstep 23 and bearing 25 carried in the upper part 21 of the spindle and carries a cylinder 26 with a recess 27 having a passageway 27 communicating with the outside of the cylinder around which it makes one or more turns before passing to guide 29. The latter is pivoted to a ring 31, the position of which on the cylinder may be adjusted by a catch 32. A hollow portion of the part 21 in which the rod is supported has a conical part 35 with vanes 36 which cooperate with a flat part 37 of the rod to cause oil to be raised to lubricate bearing 25 when the spindle achieves sufficient speed.
