Abstract

773,614. Spindle arrangements. T. M. M. (RESEARCH), Ltd. Oct. 20, 1955 [Sept. 30, 1954], No. 28209/54. Class 120 (2). A spindle unit for textile spinning &c. machines includes a dead blade spindle and a bobbin carrier comprising two axially spaced components one of which is rotatably mounted on the dead blade and incorporates a driving wharve whilst the other-is mounted upon a stationary member, forming part of or fixed to the dead blade and is driven from the first component through the medium of a bobbin extending between said components. In the arrangement shown the dead blade 10 is supported by resilient mountings 11, 12 in the spindle rail 13 and carries a stationary cylindrical pillar 14 on its upper end. The lower component of the bobbin carrier consists of a short sleeve 15 rotatably supported on the blade 10 and incorporating a driving wharve 151. The upper component of the bobbin carrier consists of a sleeve 20 fitted with a cap 21 and rotatably mounted at the upper end of pillar 14.
