In a textile spinning spindle of the type in which a stationary blade 10 is fixed in a bolster 12 mounted on the spindle rail 13 and a driven bobbin carrier 20 is rotatably suspended on the stationary blade 10, the lower end of the bobbin carrier 20 is mounted independently of the blade 10. A ball bearing 24 has its inner race mounted on an extension 221 of a sleeve 21 secured to the carrier 20 and its outer race mounted in the bolster 12. The upper bearing comprises a cylindrical roller bearing 17. The bolster is mounted flexibly in the spindle rail by resilient material 14.
