Abstract

787,285. False-twist tubes. SCRAGG & SONS, Ltd., E. June 15, 1956 [July 21, 1955], No. 21076/55. Class 120(2) [Also in Group XXXIV] A twist-tube assembly comprises a hollow bolster 11 mounted on the base of an oil reservoir 10, spinner 17 rotatably mounted on the bolster and provided with passageways 23 and with a reduced diameter portion 18 separated by a space 19 from the bolster, rotation of the spinner causing oil to pass up the space 19 through the bearings 16, 15 and through the passageways 23 back to the reservoir 10. The spinner is provided with a sleeve 22 having oil passageways 24. A cup-like sleeve 20 with a peripheral flange 21 is mounted in the reservoir to surround the lower part of the bolster and the sleeve has a restricted passage 25 for entry of oil. When the assembly is in use yarn passes up through the bolster, through a tube 14, and around rollers 26 to a package winding device. The spinner 17 is rotated by means of an endless belt or tape.
