Abstract

428,832. Ball bearings. HATTERSLEY & SON, Ltd., and PETERSEN, W., Armley Road, Leeds. Jan. 7, 1935, No. 550. [Class 12 (i)] In spinning, roving, twisting, and like textile machines, ball bearings 12, 17, for the spindles 3 are mounted above and below the neck rail in a sleeve 21 which fits a bore in the neck rail and has at its ends flange members 24, 27 supporting the ball bearings, the internal diameter of the flanges being larger than the hole in the neck rail, the flange 27 is detachably secured to the sleeve 21 by a screw 26 and has a recess 30 receiving the top portion of a wharve 28. The upper bearing can yield laterally, the flange 24 being attached to a flange 22 on the sleeve by spring pins 23. The bearing 12 is enclosed by a cover 25. In a modification the flange 35, Fig. 4, is secured to the sleeve flange 34 by a split steel ring 36.
