439,912. Spinning &c. spindle apparatus. LESLIE, J. C., and KEAY & LESLIE, Ltd., Hillbank Iron Works, North William Street, Dundee. Nov. 2, 1934, No. 31465. [Class 120 (ii)] In spinning, roving and like frames, of the kind wherein the spindle is mounted in ball bearings in a tube depending from the neck rail, and the whorl is mounted below the neck rail and is recessed at both ends to house the bearing-tube and the end of a pin upon which the belt may be supported when removed from the whorl, the whorl is provided with a skirt 16 to house the upper end of the pin 18 and the upper recess 10 is relatively deep so that the whorl is disposed close under the neck rail and the lower race of the bearing- tube 4 is substantially at or below the mid - transverse plane of the whorl.
