Abstract
422,324. Travellers for spinning and twisting frames. GODEFROY, G. P. A., Rue le Marois, Brionne, France. June 7, 1934, No. 16888. Convention date, June 19, 1933. [Class 120 (ii)] Travellers for spinning and twisting frames are constructed so that the angle which contacts with the inner part of the track of the ring is bisected by the line joining the points A, B of greatest width, or a line near thereto, which during operation is substantial coincident with the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the track, and the centre of gravity if situated at the centre of such line or near thereto. The traveller may be symmetrical in form, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the angle which the shanks make with the vertical being 45‹ (alpha, Fig. 1), or greater than 45‹ and not exceeding 60‹ (alpha<1>, Fig. 2), when winding on spindles of small diameter. As shown in Fig. 3 the traveller may be asymmetrical, when the inner edge of the track of the ring is narrow or it is necessary to use wide travellers, the part on the right of the axis being the same as in the symmetrical form except that the shank B E is shorter and the part on the left of the axis being suitably shaped for the correct disposition of the centre of gravity and for the position of the point D.
