Abstract

188,810. Stewart, K. Aug. 24, 1921. Spindle apparatus; - spindle-driving apparatus. - In spinning frames for jute, flax, cotton, worsted, &c. wherein the spindle passes through a stationary socket and carries a cup at its lower end which is secured to the wharl, a single ball bearing 8 is provided, the inner and outer races of which are respectively attached to a depending part of the socket 2 and to the wharl. The interior of the wharl is curved so that lubricant will pass through ports 18 to the spindle which is provided with spiral grooves 9.
