Abstract

217,104. Keyser, J. J. Aug. 30, 1923. Spring and other yielding supports. -In a collar bearing for the spindle 1 of a spinning, twisting, threading or like machine which is supported by radially-arranged resilient elements such as springs 10 or rubber elements the springs 10 or elements 9 are guided and retained at their outer ends by resilient means such as a split steel band 11. Lugs 12, which are stamped out from or rigidly connected to the band 11, embrace the outer ends of the springs 10 or elements 9. The spindle is positively rotated by a worm wheel 2. The collar bearing shown comprises a ball bearing 4 mounted in an oil cup 5 mounted between the casing 6 and a cover 7. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the cup 5 has an axial extension 14 of smaller diameter than the ball bearing and the resilient elements act against the extension.
