Abstract

897,244. Spinning spindle bearings. T.M.M. (RESEARCH) Ltd. Nov. 18, 1960 [Dec. 10, 1959], No. 42080/59. Class 12 (1). In a spindle mounting for a textile machine a spindle blade 11 is mounted in a tubular insert sleeve 12 located within a bolster 10, the blade is supported radially by a bearing 14 carried by a resiliently-mounted outer sleeve 15 and axially by a footstep bearing 13. The sleeve 12, having a flange 121 is supported between resilient annulµ 18, one of which abuts an inwardlydirected shoulder 153 of the outer sleeve 15 and the other abuts the bearing 14 via a washer 141. The outer sleeve 15 has an extension 151 received by the bolster 10 and a hexagonallyshaped spring 16 is located between the extension 151 and the bore of the bolster to provide lateral resilience, and the sleeve 15 has an inwardly-directed portion 152 which retains a bearing cap 17. The footstep bearing 13 has a bearing washer 131 attached thereto which supports damping bushes 19, 20 having lubricating oil therebetween and the bolster extends to an oil sump 101. In a modification, additional damping bushes are provided.
