251,698. Marks, E. C. R., (Saco-Lowell Shops). Feb. 6, 1925. Channels in vertical-shaft bearings.-In a spinning spindle bearing, lubricant, fed to the bolster casing 10 through the spout 24, passes through slots in the bolster 4 to the step bearing 5 and works its way up the spindle to a thrower ring 26 which throws it into a well 27 formed between the bearing bush 7 and a sleeve 18. The lubricant passes from the, well 27 through passages in the ball and socket bearing and down a passage formed by a split in one side of the sleeve 16 to the bottom of the bolster casing 10.
