Abstract
520,389. Automatic lubrication of the vertical spindles of spinning &c. machines. HARDY, J., and LLOYD, R. A. Oct. 20, 1938, No. 30339. [Class 12 (iii)] The vertical spindles of spinning, throwing and like textile machines are lubricated by means of an impeller 13 fixed at the foot of each and adapted, on rotation of the spindle, to circulate oil contained at the foot of the hollow assembly through one or more apertures 14 in a bolster 5 and up through one or more channels on the top outside thereof to the spindle bearing, whence it gravitates into the bolster or descends in part outside, if in excess, through other channels. The bolster 5 is fixedly held in a holder 7 by a spring 20 on it having a leaf extending downwardly and engaging a socket in the holder.
