[Class 23.] In an electrical machine for driving a vertical spindle a, in which a main bearing c is arranged within the rotor carrier r, the latter serves as an intercepting and collecting chamber for lubricant. A helical member k on the spindle a rotates in a fixed container i and pumps lubricant through channels n, m, to an upper bearing b from whence it is led by a carrier g to the bearing c. Oil flowing out of the bearing c is caught in the carrier r and passed through a pipe h to the container i.
