Spindle apparatus. - In a centrifugal machine for spinning artificial silk, the shaft C and centrifugal drum F are mounted in a framing and two or more heavy rings H1, H2, H3 are loosely carried in a drum E secured to the shaft, centrifugal force creating frictional driving- engagement between the shaft and rings, which latter automatically assume positions for balancing the rotating parts. The framing carries the motor A and is supported by resilient carriers B1, B2, B3 on the bed.
