384,646. Centrifugal machines. PFAUTZ, R., 132, Berlinerstrasse, Wilmersdorf, Berlin. March 3, 1931, No. 6626. Convention date, March 6, 1930. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Addition to 319,312, [Class 138 (ii), Washing, mangling, &c.]. [Class 2.3.] The perforated clothes receptacle c<1> of a washing-machine is rotated in a clockwise direction on its own axis and simultaneously the receptacle moves along an inclined path in a counterclockwise direction about a pivot b<1>. The latter motion is derived from the engagement of an arm f on the shaft of a motor i with a roller d on a shaft d<1> projecting from the lid c<2> of the receptacle. The rotation on its own axis is caused by the engagement of a surface e<1> on the receptacle with an annular track e<2> inside the stationary casing a. For centrifuging, a disc is placed under the pivot b<1> to hold the receptacle vertical, the shaft d<1> then being coupled directly to the motor shaft. The machine may, alternatively, be driven by a hand-crank i<2>.
