474,734. Washing-machines. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. May 27, 1937, No. 14738. Convention date, May 27, 1936. [Class 138 (ii)] In a washing-machine the shaft 14 of the agitator 13 extends through a flexible diaphragm 12 that seals the opening in the bottom of the tub 1, and the diaphragm is secured to the shaft and agitator by washers 16, 17. The lower end of the shaft 14 is moved in a circular path by means of a crank arm 19 driven by a shaft 20.
