[Class 23] The drum 6 of a centrifugal laundry machine is suspended resiliently by means of tension and compression springs 11, 13. The spindle 7 is driven from the motor 9 and is supported in bearings in the sleeve 5 which passes through an aperture in. the casing 1. The springs are arranged in a circle round the spindle; the tension springs 11 which are secured rigidly at their ends, are arranged between the bottom of the casing and the flange 10 on the sleeve 5, while the compression springs 13 are arranged between the bottom of the casing and the collar 12 on the sleeve 5.
