Abstract

379,578. Lubricating dynamo-electric machines. INTERNATIONAL GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Inc., 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitats-Ges. ; 2, Friedrich Karl-Ufer, Berlin.) Dec. 4, 1931,.No. 33680. Convention date, Dec. 5, 1930. [Classes 12 (i), 12 (ii), and 12 (iii).] In a dynamo-electric machine, particularly for a centrifugal spinning machine, the frame g upon which the active material d of the rotor is mounted is constructed in the form of a cup so that the interior constitutes an oil intercepting and collecting chamber f. The vertical shaft a of the motor is mounted in bearings b, c, the lower bearing c being arranged within the chamber f. Oil collecting in an annular recess p in the chamber f is forced centrifugally through a pipe o to the upper bearing b. Oil also passes through a tube h into a stationary receptacle i in which rotates a spirally-grooved member k secured to the lower end of the shaft so as to cause oil to be forced through a pipe r to the bearing b.
