[Class 23] A centrifuge has a drum 5 carried by a horizontal shaft 3 driven by an electric motor 4. The shaft is supported in two bearings 6, 8 carried by the casing, and an adjustable knife 14 is provided to dislodge the deposited material. The drum wall is extended beyond the flat base 11 and is provided with a heavy ring 16 to ensure that the centre of gravity of the drum coincides with the centre of the bearing 8.
