Abstract

512,223. Centrifugal pumps. DILKS,- H. Dec. 30, 1938, No. 37921. [Class 110 (i)] A centrifugal pump impeller 4 is bolted to a thimble-like nave 6 which is mounted on bearings 7, 8 housed in the interior of the thimble. The bearings 7, 8 are carried by a stub shaft 9 secured in the pedestal 11 of the pump 12. The arrangement prevents fluid from reaching the bearings. The pump may be belt or gear driven.
