224,392. Smith, W. Prince-, and Waterhouse, D. Dec. 5, 1923. Spindle apparatus.- A spindle A for a spinning, twisting, doubling, or like machine is provided with a selfadjusting bearing comprising a flanged sleeve F encircling the spindle and carrying below the flange f at its upper end an external collar G of which the periphery is curvilinear and which seats in a correspondingly contoured ring H removably secured by washers j and screws in the mouth of an aperture J in the spindle rail E. The sleeve F is provided with a plug f<1> which may support the spindle, A vertically. The Provisonal Specification states that in a modification the bearing may be of the ball or roller type.
