Abstract
555,104. Spinning yarns &c. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO., Ltd., and NOGUERA, J. May 20, 1942, No. 6872. [Class 120 (ii)] In a twisting and winding device for rovings or yarns, two ends of the material to be twisted and wound are fed separately along a fixed axis to two bobbins which are diametrically disposed about the fixed axis and rotated bodily, about such axis while rotating on their own axes. As shown the two bobbins 10 are rotatably supported in slotted arms 12 pivotally secured to lugs at diametrically opposed positions on a frame 14 and bear against the internal surface of a cylindrical drum 11 which causes the bobbins to rotate on their own axes ; the drum 11 and frame 14 are supported and guided by rollers 19, 22 respectively and are driven by belts from drums 21, 24 so that the drum 11 and frame 14 are driven separately in the same direction but at different speeds. The ends 15 to be twisted and wound are fed from the opposite ends of a tube 16 mounted in supports 17 and carrying blades pressing against the bobbins so that the tube is rotated thereby ; the rollers 19, 22 are mounted on a carriage 25 which is reciprocated along rails 27 to wind the ends on the bobbins.
