780,361. Cutting tubular material. TRICOTAGE FABRIEKEN VORHEEN F. BEEREN & ZONEN N.V. June 23, 1955 [June 28, 1954], No. 18181/55. Class 31 (1). A machine for continuously cutting a helical strip from a tubular band of textile or similar material and continuously winding the cut-off strip comprises a pair of aligned shafts 2, 3 which are rotated at the same speed, the shaft 3 carrying a stub shaft 21 supporting an unwinding roll 20 of flattened tubular material which is pulled on to a drum 22 mounted on the shaft 2 and provided with a conical part 23 and a cylindrical part 24, the periphery of the part 24 being provided at regular intervals with fixed bolts 25 covered with carding elements 27 with which co-operate carding elements 29 on reciprocable members 28 which are urged, by means of springs, against a panel 31, the inclination of which is adjustable round a shaft 32 by means of a screwed spindle 34, the material being lifted, to facilitate cutting, by a rotary disc cutter 41, by means of a slotted sector-shaped guide 39, and the cut-off strip 58 being passed between toothed rollers 54, 55, Fig. 2, and wound on to a roller 56. The rollers 54 to 56 are driven at a greater speed. than the cut-off strip 58.
