Abstract

1,118,547. Knitting-machines. 14 June, 1967 [27 Aug., 1966], No. 38531/66. Heading D1C. A fabric take-up roller in a circular knitting machine comprises a fixed central portion 2 and axially slideable outer portions 4 which can be locked in position such that a gap G is provided adjacent the edge E of the folded tubular fabric to prevent creasing. The members 4 are keyed to a central shaft 1 and locked in the required position by grub-screws. The roller is resiliently urged against a fixedly mounted driving roller R<SP>1</SP> and is driven therefrom by pinions 10, 11. The roller is assembled with all the roller elements smooth and then fluted so that the flutes are axially aligned.
