Abstract

1358686 Knitting machine take down COURTAULDS Ltd 5 Aug 1971 [28 Aug 1970] 41512/70 Heading D1C A pneumatic take down for a circular hosiery knitting machine comprises guide means mounted for rotation in the same direction as the needle cylinder about an axis passing through the inlet 25 and outlet 27 wherein the guide means causes the fabric to take a path longer than the direct path from inlet to outlet. The guide means may be a labyrinthine chamber 26 comprising a housing 18. The needle cylinder is driven through a ring gear 7 on drive cylinder 6 by a pinion 9 on a shaft 12 which also carries a pinion 14 meshing with a ring gear 15 to drive housing 18. In another arrangement Fig. 2 (not shown) the labyrinthine chamber 32 has a vertically folded tube and in Fig. 3 a chamber with end plates 42, 43 is divided into compartments 44, 45, 46.
