Abstract

720,451. Sewing-machines. PFAFF AKT.- GES., G. M. Dec. 3, 1952 [March 5, 1952], No. 30604/52. Class 112. In a sewing-machine, a sub-assembly, constituted by a frame structure carrying the needle mechanism and drive shaft, is mounted in the machine casing 11, and a cover 36 is thereafter applied to enclose it. The frame structure, which comprises a plate 22 having a housing at one end for the needle mechanism, a reinforcing rib 23, and bearing structures 24 for the drive shaft 26, is provided with lugs 32 which rest upon, and are bolted to, lugs 19 formed on the casing, whereby the frame structure is suspended within the casing.. The shaft 26 is driven by means 31. Pins 37, for supporting the thread spools, pass through the cover and screw into the rib 23.
