693,591. Sewing-machines. STEHR,G. Jan. 29, 1951 [Jan. 27, 1950], No. 2184/51. Class 112. Frames.-The base 1 is of downwardly-open substantially rectangular box 'shape, and the hollow arm 4, which has no enlarged or projecting head and which tapers towards its free end, extends from the base in a semi-oval or like curve to a point above the throat-plate 5. Stitch-forming devices.-The needle 7 is carried by an arcuate lever 3 lying within the arm 4 and pivoted to the base 1 at 2, being connected by a pitman 10 to an eccentric on the main shaft 9, which is preferably driven by an electric motor in the base of the machine. The take-up comprises a lever 11 connected to the needle lever 3.
