Abstract

931,275. Sewing-machines. G. M. PFAFF A.G. May 4, 1962 [June 6, 1961], No. 17130/62. Class 112. A horizontally rotating sewing-machine looptaker and a bottom feeding wheel are carried by a post on one side of the path of movement of the needle, and the looptaker beak projects through the centre of the wheel which is annular in form. A hollow rotary shaft 10, journalled in a post 2, carries at its upper end a disc 15 the upper surface of which has a friction surface 16. Engaging the latter is the periphery of an annular feeding wheel 19, the inner surface 21 of which is tapered and is journalled on the correspondingly tapered ends of a bar 23 secured adjustably to post 2 by screws 24 and spring washers 25. A rotary shaft 30, journalled in shaft 10, carries at its upper end a looptaker 31, the looptaking beak 32 of which projects through the centre of wheel 19. The work-supporting cover-plate 40 of the post is hinged at 39 to the upper side wall 38 of the post.
