Abstract

1,254,657. Sewing machines. SINGER CO. 21 April, 1970 [25 April, 1969], No. 18960/70. Heading D1G. A bobbin case has a cup-shaped body with a cylindrical outer wall 9 and a substantially circular end face 10, a thread tension spring 15 secured to the outer wall 9, a lip 23 formed on the periphery of the end face 10 and overlying the spring 15 and a finger 30 extending from the spring 15 into abutting relationship with the lip 23 to prevent entrapment of bobbin thread beneath the lip. A spring tension adjusting screw 20 is provided. A buttonhole sewing machine including the bobbin case has a bobbin thread knife blade 7 co-operating with a ledger blade 8.
