Abstract

1,240,085. Looptaker. G. M. PFAFF A. G. 10 Feb., 1970 [7 March, 1969], No. 6255/70. Heading D1G. The cylindrical wall of a looptaker for a lock stitch sewing machine is formed with a shoulder 22 forming part of a raceway for the bearing rib 31 of a bobbin case 5, the wall being divided into segments 24 by slots 23, the segments thus being yieldable axially and radially of the looptaker. As shown the looptaker comprises inner and outer cup portions 3, 1 the inner cup 3 being so divided. The wall of the outer cup provide abutments 25 limiting the deflection of the segments and receiving the screw 26 securing the cover ring 34 thereto. In another embodiment (Figs 4 and 5, not shown) comprising a single cup, slots 44 divide the wall into alternate wide yieldable segments (46) and rigid narrow segments (47). A thread guide (56) is secured to the narrow parts (47) which extend radially beyond the wide parts (46) to limit the deflection of the wide parts.
