Abstract
985, 854. Washing machines. INDIVE G.m.b.H. July 11, 1963 [Feb. 7, 1963], No. 27516/63. Heading D1A. [Also in Division H2] A horizontal drum washing machine is driven by a unit comprising a high pole numbered reversible motor and a low pole numbered motor, for washing and spin-drying respectively, mountedona common shaft 50 and within a common housing 40. The first motor has a stator 41 with a winding 49 and an armature 51 while the second motor has a stator 42 with a winding 48 and an armature 52, the end 53 of shaft 50 driving the drum of the washing machine through belt gearing. The winding 49 overlaps winding 48 with clearance to allow free passage of cooling air through holes 47, 46 in the casing. Armature 51 also has holes 54 therein and from blades 55. The armature 52 may be provided with four blades 56.
