Abstract

995,534. Rotor mountings for electric motors. H. PAPST. May 20. 1964, No. 20736/64. Heading H2A. In an electric motor the rotor has three bearings, two of which are attached to the stator which is resiliently mounted at one end. In the external-rotor machine shown in Fig. 1, the rotor shaft 2 is supported by two bearings 4, 5 in a tube 3 projecting from the stator end-flange 15 which is resiliently supported at 8. The driving end of the shaft rides in a further resiliently-supported bearing 6. The output pulley 7 may be coupled to the exterior rotor 1 through a centrifugal clutch. The bearing tube 3 carries the internal stator 14. In a modification with internal rotor (Fig. 2, not shown), the middle bearing 4 is carried by the driving end of the stator, the other end being rubber, mounted as before. The internal tube 3 is thus dispensed with. Other arrangements are described.
