Abstract

959,502. Electric motors. SVENSKA AKTIEBOLAGET GASACCUMULATOR. Feb. 13, 1962 [Feb. 15, 1961], No. 5487/62. Heading H2A. In a motor having two interdigitated-pole stators 10, 11 which are energized in mutual phase-quadrature by means of a phase-splitting condenser, and a cylindrical permanent-magnet rotor 1, this rotor is free on the motor shaft 3 but is coupled to it by means a spring 5 connected to a flywheel 4 secured on the shaft. The rotor poles may be skewed. Switching arrangements are described whereby either stator winding may be connected through the phase-splitting condenser for reversal. The drive is by friction wheels 6, 7 and the shaft may be axially displaced against spring 9 to alter the ratio of the drive, continuously or as shown, in steps.
