Abstract

1,195,747. Motors for pumps. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS - G.m.b.H. 16 Aug., 1967 [16 Aug., 1966], No. 37606/67. Heading H2A. A brushless universal electric motor having a permanent magnet, e.g. oxide material (barium ferrite) rotor 3 is provided to drive a circulating pump which in use convey a medium surrounding the rotor which forms a part of the pump. As shown, the rotor 3 is mounted via a tubular extension 10 of the pump impeller 2 upon a stationary shaft 4 carried by a gap cap 6 connected to the pump housing 1 and shielding from the medium a stator lamination stack 5 and winding 11 surrounded by an outer cap 7. The winding may be fed and controlled, not shown, via transistors whose turn-on pulses are applied in dependence upon the angular position of the rotor; Hall generators or H.F. oscillators may be used in the cirouit.
