Abstract

A metallic yarn is fed from a spool to a knitting station of a circular machine by means of a driven roller bearing directly on the spool of yarn. The spool is placed in a holder and rests directly on the roller, which is driven at a speed having a continued relationship to the machine speed, whatever the machine speed. Several rollers may be driven from a common driven shaft by interconnecting universal joints, or from a rotating gear wheel.
