Spindle apparatus; twist tube and like twisters; combined drawing and twisting arrangements.-In continuous spinning frames, such as ring and flyer frames, in which twist is imparted to the yarn by a rotary tube arranged between the rollers and the winding point and provided with one or more rotary non-driven rollers around which the yarn is passed, a brake is applied to a roller 6 in a driven tube 1 whereby the tension of the yarn may be readily adjusted. The yarn is wound on a spindle 9 by means of a guide 15 fixed on a bell 16 depending from the tube 1, by a flyer device of known type, or by an ordinary ring and traveller. The roller 6 may be braked by pads 20 which bear on its ends and are carried in a spring holder 21, by an adjustable ring which bears against a friction ring on the roller, or by a braked ring. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also two devices and the ring in the upper device is driven positively instead of being braked, thereby driving the roller and causing it to act in the same manner as the drawing-roller of an ordinary spinning frame, and an arrangement wherein the winding-on is effected by a dragged bobbin arrangement, or by a driven spindle, and, in the latter case, the speed of the spindle is variable in accordance with the winding, or the delivery of the yarn is regulated. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
