Abstract

A belt-type yarn feeder, esp. for false twist texturing machines, but applicable also wherever the yarn must be fed at a strictly controlled speed, has a driving shaft in comon with a number of processing stations on the machine. A pivoting bracket carries two pulleys on shafts parallel to the long axis of the driving shaft, and a pivoting yarn support cylinder can be brought into contact with an endless belt running on the two pulleys, one of which is rotated directly by the common driving shaft. The driven pulley is attached to a pull-off spring so that tension is maintained on the belt. The device is simple, cheap to mfr., takes up very little room and is easily threaded whilst the machine is running.
