Abstract

1,189,311. Yarn or filament advancing rollers. T. M. M. (Research) Ltd. 28 June, 1967 [4 July, 1966], No. 29837/66. Heading D1D. [Also in Division F2] A drive for an advancing roller arrangement of the type having the rollers 12, 13 just out of parallel comprises a toothed pulley or gear wheel 14, 15 on each roller, a flexible, internally toothed belt 16 passing about pulleys or gear wheels 14, 15 in positive driving engagement therewith and means such as a toothed pulley 11 on a drive shaft 10 to impart drive to the belt 16 and hence to the rollers. As shown the rollers are those of a drawtwister and lie approximately parallel to the length of the machine. In Figs. 2 and 3 not shown the rollers are at right angles to the length of the machine and therefore the drive shaft and a second flexible belt is provided between the pulley on the driving shaft and one of the roller pulleys (which is widened to receive two belts) and is passed about jockey rollers to turn the drive through 90‹. The belt passing about the roller pulley may be extended to pass about the pulleys of an adjacent roller pair.
