Abstract

1327532 Drafting rollers; driving SCHUBERT & SALZER MASCHINENFABRIK AG 13 Sept 1971 [11 Sept 1970] 42598/71 Heading DID In a roller drafting system at least one of each pair of drafting rollers 1, 2 and 3, guide rollers 8 and 80 and calender rollers 5 and 50 is driven by a toothed belt system as shown. Toothed belts being stated to eliminate backlash. Drive to the whole system is via "V" belt 41 from motor M. The whole drive system may be accommodated on one side of the rollers as in Fig. 4, (not shown). Tensioning wheels are provided as in Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown). The intermediate drive between rollers 5 and 50 and 8 and 80 may be by spur gears.
