1331740 Condensing sliver from combing machines OSAKA KIKO KK and CHUWA WOOL INDUSTRY CO Ltd 18 Feb 1972 7686/72 Addition to 1271316 Heading D1N In a combing machine, e.g. as disclosed in Specification 1271316 in which web from combing machines 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d converges to condensing funnels 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d such that the fibres are turned through an angle which becomes progressively more acuate from one side of the web to the other, a common drive is employed for the combing machines 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d the draw off rollers 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d and a subsequent drafting apparatus 8. The drive from a motor 20 is through belts and a transmission 21 to common shafts 25 and 28. Shaft 28 drives the draw off rollers through bevel gearing as detailed in Fig. 2 (not shown). The sliver from each combing machine is carried to the common drafting apparatus 8 by a belt 7.
